Welcome to my Library & Information Science ePortfolio. This ePortfolio is a collection of my work and experiences since beginning my career change from Human Resources professional to Information professional. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me.
Prior to beginning my studies toward my MLIS in 2010, I spent several as a Human Resources professional. I held positions in a technology company and a non-profit foundation before spending five years in biotechnology companies.
When I decided to make a career change, I looked at the type of work I enjoyed in Human Resources and the type of organization I thrived in. I determined that joining a special library in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device organization would be the perfect marriage of my passion for information science and the solid business experience I gained through my work in Human Resources.
Making this change has been the best decision of my career. I feel passionate and motivated in a way I never felt with Human Resources. I enjoy the challenge and the satisfaction that my work now brings me.
In addition to a Master of Library and Information Science, I also hold a Master of Human Resources Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
